ALT.SF4M ReBoot • s******j@**.com 03/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC The ABC Saturday Morning cartoon "ReBoot" is really getting strange and good. There are plenty of new episodes and wicked fun. Also . . . the villainous penguin from "The Wrong Trousers" keeps showing up, in computer animated form. • s******j@**.com 04/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC Forgot to mention: Last Saturday's episode also had caricatures of the two leads from "The X Files." Very strange and very funny. • a****4@f******.********n.ca 06/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E. Ah, yes, the episode is called "Trust No One". I've yet to see it, but I've heard *lots* of good reviews. ttyl Farrell p.s. How can it be...we are discussing science fiction?!?!?!?! Is that allowed in this group?!?!? • a****4@f******.********n.ca 04/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E. Good show, it is produced in Vancouver B.C., Canada. Watch for the "in-jokes", they are very funny! For example, they reproduced the Stargate from the movie of the same name...down to the exact same glyphs! The one that was on locally recently was when Dot Matrix (That hot, green chick!) was planning Enzo's birthday party...and they were auditioning acts...and the two animated characators from Dire Straight's "Money for Nothing" video get sandbagged...or Phong, the raytracing texture that became a charactor! More great Canadian Content! ttyl Farrell • d********t@***.com 09/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC Why, Stefan Jones, how are you? I still have a copy of a game called Worldsmiths. It was the "master of Orion" of it's day... --Danny-- • s******j@**.com 09/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC In article <4ctpvg$***@n*******.****.***l.com>, DannyBrat wrote: >Why, Stefan Jones, how are you? I'm playing it right now, getting it out of my system before going back to school. • g*****o@j******.****t.net 11/01/1996 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E. You can only do this with the Humans. You just make friends with everybody and nobody will ever attack you. You get all sorts of extra income and resource points from trading, that's your special power. Towards the middle and end of the game, everybody will start voting for you. For starters, everybody likes and trusts you. Also, you have no fleet to demolish other races with. One time while playing at hard level, I only had 8 planets. I've made contact and made trade pacts with all the races except for one. Of course it's the biggest one. So towards the end of the game. I saw this fleet heading towards my small empire of Humans. It turns out to be high speed scouts. I made contact and started a large trade contract with them. The following turn the council voted me to be Emperor. Not bad! I just recently completed an old time favorite game. It's Star Control 2. I found it bundled with Star Control 1 on CD for only $9! The new game, Star Control 3 is comming out mid-Feburary. It's supposed to be a knock-out. Both version 1 & 2 won several game awards. I can't wait till I get it. Glen
