     The current description of this group is almost worse than none at all.

     It looks like a come-on to the soft-brained dweebs who post personals

     on the net.

     Can we please change it to "The Science Fiction Forum" instead?

         No! We want them to show up. All we have to do is post the Snowcrash

         bitmap as a porn gif. Let them download it and let the virus do it's

         deed. Of course we would reverse engineer the code and re-write it a

         little. Encode it so whoever reads it becomes a Science Fiction Fan.

         Hehe..maybe when ICON is around the corner, we can modify it so they
         want

         to volunteer to work for the entire weekend. You can have them walk

         around the convention with an antenna sticking out of their heads.

         Whenever we need gophers in a pinch, you just send out a broadcast
         to the

         antenna heads. "Go build the ISC wall"...."Go take out this

         garbage"...."Mu-na-shu-ma-nub-yu-ta-mu"

              This reminds me of Simon Bar Sinister's phony booths on the old
              Underdog

              cartoon. "I will do as I-Con says..."

              Anyway, I seem to be connected to this newsgroup once again.
              The last time I

              received it, it disappeared in a week or two. That was around
              the time when

              people were arguing about newsgroup propagation, some
              university's Frisbee

              club, and so on.

              I have found a good collection of shareware at:

              I am currently trying to download a catalog of galaxies on
              Netscape, but the

              time-to-completion keeps going up while the time until the
              computing center

              shuts down keeps dropping. The net would be far more useful if
              it wasn't so

              damned slow. Also, Netscape crashes a lot. Of course, it would
              help if this

              7698K text file had been zipped.

              On the way home from I-Con, my friend Bob and I stopped at Tofu
              in Smithhaven

              Mall and, on the way in, discovered Planet Comics. I obtained
              the anime video

              Iczer One, Vol. 1 there for 20% off, which was cool. I'll have
              to look for

              more of these videos, now that they're no longer $100 a tape.

              I'll try to invade Long Island and annoy everybody some time
              this summer.
