Virtual Forumites? • j********o@***.com 26/05/1996 00:00:000 UTC I had a funny thought reading the postings. I noticed a fellow named William MacArthur posting from CA. I don't recall him being a Forumite, in the traditional sense (a member of the SUNY Stony Brook Science Fiction Forum). Since this is a publically accessible Newgroup, we can expect visitors, but are they Honorary Forumites? Perhaps there should be some indoctrination, maybe a quiz. Q: Which do you take to which event: Stefan, Doc, Gorno, Alex DexCon, COMDEX, Skywatching, Fighting your way into the Galactic Core Q: Who makes more money: Ellen's husband (Slime) or Meryl? Q: What IS that Smell!? Q: What is the most Tunnel Intensive route from Old Physics to the Hospital Physical Plant? Q: Where can you find toads (real ones) on Campus. Q. Sherman was Pushed!! But by whom?... GORNO You missed the whole Middle Ages! Really, how were they (yawn)? ...I enjoyed them... • k******d@d*****i.com 29/05/1996 00:00:000 UTC In article <4oabph$***@n*******.****.***l.com>, j********o@***.com (JohnGorno) writes: > I had a funny thought reading the postings. Yes we do get lots of visitors...we've discussed this in the past but haven't come up with proper "Virtual Forumite" membership requirements. I had suggested that they had to log on at 4:00 am, but everybody thought that was too easy... --Doc • b******c@u*******r.ca 31/05/1996 00:00:000 UTC In article <9605291805593.The_Win-D.*******d@d*****i.com>, Kevin Conod wrote: >In article <4oabph$***@n*******.****.***l.com>, j********o@***.com (JohnGorno) >writes: > I had a funny thought reading the postings. It's not often that I read my name in a post especially when there are no flames associated with the post. If this is a private forum, I will gladly unsubscribe. However, I didn't subscribe in the first place thinking it was a sex forum and getting that right should get me some brownie points. Jill, as muchg as I love you, when you reffer to Forumites a buch of geeks. You'll have to speek for yourself. :))))) I'd much more prefer to say that Forumites are "in a class that no one can figure out yet".. *bleech!* -- Andrew Livathinos a******l@**.net http://www.li.net/~andrewl/ ICON - Internet Liason ICON - Co-Media Coordinator FORUM - Activities Coordinator Officer A Member of the HTML Writers Guild =============================================================== I-Con Science Fiction, Inc. Bill: Don't go! This is NOT a "private" forum, although it IS based on the SUNY Stony Brook Science Fiction Forum. Membership in the (physical) Forum includes all members of the "campus community." I see no reason why membership in the virtual Forum should not include all members of our virtual community (except, of course, for the clueless looking for a sex group). You get a lot more than brownie points for reading the FAQ and figuring out what we're all about. -- -Perrianne Lurie, BucCONeer, August 5-9, 1998 b**********8@a*****.*****x.net http://www.access.digex.net/~balt98 P.O.
