ALT.SF4M Hideous Tricks to Play on Kids • s******j@**.com 02/06/1996 00:00:000 UTC A bunch of people here at school got into a really weird converstation the other day. We thought about how easy it would be to mess with a kid's head, particularly if you are a parent. (Actually, this generally happens anyway, but that's another story.) Reason: Kids will eventually mess with your heads by inventing new slang, listening to asinine music, and contributing to the downfall of reasonable society. So you might as well get revenge while you can. Imagine telling your kid that humans, at around age 10, shed their skins. "It's not polite to talk about, but it's one of those things we all go through. One day you'll have an urge to rub your forehead and scalp against a rock. Pretty soon you'll have worn a hole and be able to wriggle out." The reason you don't see any skins lying around: You get the urge to eat the discarded layer after it's off. With desktop publishing so prevelant, you could even make up a color story book about the process: "John and Jane's Shedding Day Surprise." If you're a elementary school teacher, you could have whole classrooms believing this. If caught, you could make a big fuss over parents and the school administration trying to ignore the facts of life and not facing up to informing the kids themselves. Then you'll have a whole community of adults wondering why it didn't happen to them. -- +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+ ***@***.com ~ s*****s@a*****.***u.edu ~ s******j@**.com http://www.ini.cmu.edu/~sjones/ • a****4@f******.********n.ca 03/06/1996 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E.
