ALT.SF4M New Topic: Lucid Dreaming... • Avariel 06/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC Going through all the alt.*'s, I noticed a neat string, one on lucid dreaming. Now, I had noticed all the people I know who are lucid dreamers (myself included) used to have a LOT of nightmares... I'd like to get some info on this. it's my opinion that lucid dreaming is a self-defense mechanism against nightmares... (YES one DOES need a defense mechanism... my nightmares sometimes got so bad that I tried to stop sleeping when I was 10, I do that now, but that's different!) * ------------------------------------------------------- * | * --------------------------------------------------- * | | | "Eventually we come to a point where | | | | High Science becomes indistunguishable | | | | from High Magick" | | * |-----------------------------------------------------| * | | usrid: ****@i*.******b.edu | | | | c****c@q*****.***.**c.edu | | | * --------------------------------------------------- * | * ------------------------------------------------------- * • ****@**.com 14/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC Kevin Conod (k******d@d*****i.com) wrote: : In article , Avariel : <****@i*.******b.edu> writes: > Going through all the alt.*'s, I noticed a neat : string, one on lucid : > dreaming. The term is familiar - I've heard it here and there. Refresh my memory, : what exactly is 'lucid dreaming'? well, you could read the alt.dreams.lucid faq (but then why is this posted here in alt.sf4m ) anyway, putting it very simply (and I'm not an expert on this, I just read the faq a year or so ago.... :) Lucid dreaming is when you are dreaming (duh) and you realize that you are dreaming. If you get good at it, you can have this awareness and control the dream, and not wake up right away. Or at least that is what I've read :) -- / ****@**.com The Philosopher from Hell http://www.io.com/~tpfh/ \ If Hello Kitty was in Hell, she would redecorate it and turn / / it into a cute and happy Place. -- Carlos May O- / \ Nixon in '96! Well, I don't have the least idea what you're talking about.
