ALT.SF4M I've Got us a Description! • s******j@**.com 09/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC I asked the AOL newsgroup manager to give this group a description (Stony Brook Science Fiction Forum). So we'll get fewer jackasses from that corner of cyberspace. --Stefan -- +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+ ***@***.com ~ s*****s@a*****.***u.edu ~ s******j@**.com http://www.ini.cmu.edu/~sjones/ • m*******e@a****.***u.edu 16/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC Some commercial services which provide direct connections to the internet without adding services of their own (i.e. unlike AOL, Compu$erve, Genie, etc.) also provide lists, e.g.: alt.binaries.pictures.erotica: Megabytes of copyright violations (taken from a listing on a friend's account). Is there some way we can send our description to those services as well? People with Compu$erve and Genie accounts can contact their managers as well. --- Brian Stefan: thanks for the email (see how cleverly I save you the cost of reading a reply message). • p*******x@p***.****i.com 18/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC Brian McGuinness (m*******e@a****.***u.edu) somehow managed to write: : Some commercial services which provide direct connections to the internet : without adding services of their own (i.e. unlike AOL, Compu$erve, Genie, etc.) : also provide lists, e.g.: when i created alt.sf4m, i set up a descriptipon, and there's been one in all the newgroup messages i periodically send out it won't help for clueless ppl...tghe FAQ goes out every week -- 73 de Dave Weingart KB2CWF "Can you find the Valium? mailto:p*******x@****.com Can you bring it soon? mailto:p*******x@e******.*********n.edu Lost Johnny's out there http://www.liii.com/~phydeaux Baying at the Moon" -- Hawkwind
