ALT.SF4M What are your favorite cult films? • d*******s@n**.********e.com 15/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC On Aug 14, 1996, 'g*****o@l**.****t.net (Glen)' wrote: >So, what is everybodies favorite SF cult films? I would add, with some slight hesitation in calling them skiffy: The Forbidden Zone Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (both versions!) Amazon Women on the Moon Rocky Horror Picture Show Arise! (the SubGenius Training Film) ..and, of course, the ultra-rare * Chicken Lesbian Vampires from Outer Space *, which was shown at an I-Con years ago to a rather un-receptive audience. I'd be willing to pay big bucks for a copy of that. Notes: "Forbidden Zone" stars Herve Villechaise (sp?) - you know, that midget guy from Fantasy Island - as the King of the Sixth Dimension. In glorious black and white. It's a musical. I include "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" for its philosophical depth. Rarely has a movie stayed with me over so many days, contemplating the symbolism, forcing me to discuss it with other people (causing some embarassment). Watching both the '60's version and the '90's version - which are completely different movies - shows some of the changes Japanese culture has been through in that time. -- David Hodges Thank you, drive through. • a****4@f******.********n.ca 16/08/1996 00:00:000 UTC David Hodges (d*******s@n**.********e.com) writes: > > > I agree that Buckaroo Bonzai is at the top of the list, and Brazil was > great. > > I would add, with some slight hesitation in calling them skiffy: > > The Forbidden Zone > Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (both versions!) > Amazon Women on the Moon > Rocky Horror Picture Show > Arise! And it's funny to boot too! > David Hodges Is the rumour true that it is, has been, or soon will be your birthday?!?! A short cute chick wispered this in my ear... ttyl Farrell
