ALT.SF4M THIS IS NOT A SEX/DATING/SWINGERS GROUP! • s******j@**.com 06/11/1996 00:00:000 UTC GOD DAMN SPAMMING ASSHOLE SHITHEADS! I think it's time we get a new newsgroup, explicity called alt.scifi4m or something. There is no we can explain to all of the people spamming this group that we're not a discussion group for kinkoids. In fact, let's start work on an new usenet, one that rejects spam, requires real names and addresses, etc. Stefan -- +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+ ***@***.com ~ s*****s@a*****.***u.edu ~ s******j@**.com http://www.ini.cmu.edu/~sjones/ CHARGES APPLIED FOR UNSOLICITED COMMERCIAL EMAIL! • s******j@**.com 08/11/1996 00:00:000 UTC In article <1*************.********3@l*******.****.***l.com>, wrote: >In article <55qbo5$***@b******.**o.com>, s******j@**.com (Stefan E. AOL can (and does) block out email spam barrages, and a good thing to! Those cyberpromo doughheads are on their knees and counting on a lawsuit to pull them out of debtland. AOL can't -- and maybe shouldn't -- cancel spam in usenet newsgroups. It is offering usenet as a service and shouldn't meddle in it. Usenet itself (or, to be sfish about it, itweareself, since it isn't really run by anybody) has to learn how to deal with spam on its own.
