ALT.SF4M SF art web site • m*******e@a****.***u.edu 01/03/1997 00:00:000 UTC Poking around in the ray-tracing newsgroup (I play with POV-Ray from time to time, so I like to look through this group) I found references to science fiction art at http://www.rainbo.com/people/alextoader. I am signed on to my account remotely now, and just have Lynx available, so I can't look at them at this time. But if you're interested, you have the address now. If you are looking for articles on a particular branch of astronomy, try the search engine at http://adsabs.harvard.edu. I was able to look up recent articles on the evolution of heavy element abundances in galaxies with very little difficulty. (Since the abundance of heavy elements is greater in the inner parts of the disk of a spiral galaxy than in the parts of the disk farther out, I have been wondering if planets would tend to form first in the inner parts of the disk and then farther and farther out. Now I can get some real information on this.) The global library long predicted in SF stories has arrived. --- Brian See you at I-Con.
