     Whaddaya know! The TV movie version of The Odddyssey was actually pretty
     good.

     It was not all of Homer's story, and the incidents were not told in the

     original order (most of Oddysseus' adventures are told in a flashback in
     the

     original poem), but it was very true-to-period and totally free of the

     anachronistic shit Hollywood usually puts in period pieces.

     Damn. It's really cool to see fantasy that isn't derivative drivel for

     insecure adolescents. No fucking magic swords or evil arch-villains in

     black robes or insufferably wise wizards.
