ALT.SF4M Faster than Light Radio • colleen skadl 22/05/1997 00:00:000 UTC Ok, now I'm gonna gripe For the past several weeks, WUSB Radio, 90.1 fm has not been airing in its entirety, or in some cases even at all, the Science Fiction Forum's radio show Faster than Light Radio. I would like to call on all forumites to unite and protest. This is our radio show. We make the unusual usual, and the Bizarre zarre, and now our loyal listners are forced to listen to "the Tipsey Tango" yes that is what they played instead of our show last monday!!!!! Please write to WUSB radio on our behalf, and tell them you are as unhappy as I am that they've taken the only decent program that station offers off the air. We have complained to the station many times and they always give us excuses about equipment failure, human error and other bogus lines, but they have done nothing to rectify the situation. We need help from the science fiction community. Let them know how you feel about this. Write to WUSB radio at: WUSB Radio Station State University of NY at Stony Brook Stony Brook, NY 11794 Thank you very much for taking the time to listen to my rant, and for supporting your fellpw forumites in our attempts to bring Sci-fi and Fantasy to the masses. Despite Colleen's frustration, which I can understand, she has made a few mistakes. First and foremost, FTL Radio is hardly "the only decent program that station offers." Nor is it the only science fiction program. Destinies-The Voice of Science Fiction, the Forum's original radio show (since 1983), continues to air every Friday at 11:30 PM, bringing radio drama, audiobook samplers, music, news, reviews, interviews, and some surprises to all SF fans in the listening area. And, there has been a problem with tapes disappearing at the station lately. Two of my last 4 shows have either been erased or stolen. I would suggest a call to either the Program Director or the General Manager to try to set up a way to protect your tapes, Colleen.
