ALT.SF4M Once a gamer, always a gamer • f*******e@n*****t.com 14/06/1997 00:00:000 UTC When Magic:The Gathering first came out, I thought it was s tupid concept. I couldn't believe people would waste money on these cards, where the only way to get reaclly cool cards was to keep buying more. However, my friends in my gaiming group really enjoy Magic, though for some time we hadn't played it when we met. Since they were willing to try something new (roleplaying) and have me GM an AD&D campaign, I decided to give Magic a try. First I used one of their decks to play. Soon they all gave me all their commons that they don't use, and I created my own decks. Now I'm hooked. I have 10 decks myself, including cards I bought and received as a birthday present. Now I have cool uncommons and rares. I don't go to the tournaments, but I cannot get enough Magic playing. Since I just play with my group, we don't care about the so-called banned cards, so I play with Lightning Bolt for example. They use official decks when they go to tournaments. However, I'm starting to get an inkling to try a Sealed deck tournament. Pleh! Jerry Katz • f*******e@n*****t.com 16/06/1997 00:00:000 UTC g*****o@****.net (Glen) wrote: >Stefan E. Not only have I been going to semi-annual Cosmic Encounter weekend parties in Massachusetts (there's one coming up in July), but I'm currently running a game through e-mail. In fact, the gaming group where I play Magic and AD&D originally met just to play Cosmic Encounter. Oh no, nothing will ever replace my Cosmic. :-) Jerry Katz • p*******x@n***.****i.com 15/06/1997 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E. Jones (s******j@**.com) somehow managed to write: : Poor Jerry. THEY got him.
