     Amicable and entertaining. It does suffer from removing Bean from his
     native

     habitat, and making him emotionally dependent upon an American host who
     he gets

     in trouble. The TV Bean is a gutsy solitary creature who takes on the
     system

     when it tries to trap him (often literally): he has a more definite ego
     and

     sense of self than the child-like movie Bean displays. Peter MacNichol
     ("The

     Biscuit" on AMcB) has certainly aged (not that he's done so badly, and I

     imagine it's helped his career, but he does look quite different). Also

     features the delectable Pamela Reed.
