     Nobody here seems yet to have congratulated the recipient of a
     knighthood

     in the Queen's New Year Honours who is known more for writing than for

     being Chancellor of the University of Sri Lanka at Moratuwa...

     (Sir) Arthur Charles Clarke.

     No word yet if he'll go to London to be dubbed.

         The latest word I have off the wires is that his health is too dicey
         to

         allow him to travel to London. It's unlikely that Clarke will ever
         leave

         Sri Lanka again, unless it's in an urn -- and I think that's a
         highly

         unlikely proposition.
