ALT.SF4M B5: In The Beginning... • p*******x@n***.****i.com 06/01/1998 00:00:000 UTC So who saw it? Comments? (Yes, yes, Gorno, we know you hated it) I have somewhat mixed feelings....it was a prequel, yes, but it was a prequel that I think you needed to have already seen what comes after to truly understand. I liked the fact that the early Earthforce cruisers had no gravity and that nobody made a big deal of it (and why should they? That's how it's always been for them!) -- 73 de Dave Weingart KA2ESK, ex KB2CWF "Can you find the Valium? mailto:p*******x@****.com Can you bring it soon? mailto:p*******x@e******.*********n.edu Lost Johnny's out there http://www.liii.com/~phydeaux Baying at the Moon" -- Hawkwind • j********o@***.com 07/01/1998 00:00:000 UTC Stuff I left out: I like those advertisements TNT is running with J'Kar - "I stand against tyranny and for peace, justice, and freedom!" This in the middle of the first episode, where he's defending the invasion of a Centauri planet and the abuse of the natives (including Londo's nephew) and espousing the eradication of their race! "All I want is peace! A little piece of Agreb 5, and a little piece of Centauri Prime, and a big piece of Londo Molari!" And of course, he only fights for freedom when he's not entertaining floozies in his bachelor pad. (I miss Natoth: I liked the symmetry of the three ambassadors and their sidekicks.) I am struck by the attitude of Kosh towards the Narn and Centauri in that episode: "I... say... let 'em die! They're only meat-boys!" presages stuff much later - although there was an implication that the Vorlons visited J'Kar in that vision of his... And what is this crap about "humans being the key?" They were on the bad guys' side in the War! Another missed opportunity by Strazinsky. So what's he gonna do after this season? Go back to selling vacuum cleaners? Gorno "You will know fear... you will know pain... and you will know death... have a nice day!" It occurs to me that the simplest explanation for Ally McBeal's eccentricities would be a softball-sized brain tumor.
