ALT.SF4M The Truman Show • j********o@***.com 06/06/1998 00:00:000 UTC I really liked this movie no end, you know. Not as substantial as I expected, and the premise is a fairly slim conceit, so there are few surprises, but quite satisfying nonetheless. Not great, but inspirational. I found myself skipping out of the movie theater (of course, I neglected to sleep the night before) and I had a yen to punch someone out, not out of the usual rage, but just whimsically to throw off the script! The details are nice, like the town motto: "Unum pro Omnibus; Omnes pro Unum." Spoilers to follow separately. Gorno "Listen to the common cry: Have I become a living lie? You know the shape My breath will take Before I let it out..." • f*******e@***.com 07/06/1998 00:00:000 UTC The premise of the movie has been done before. It was also used for an episode of the new Twilight Zone of the eighties. That aboot sez it for me, too. Very nice. >I found myself skipping >out of the movie theater (of course, I neglected to sleep the night before) and >I had a yen to punch someone out, not out of the usual rage, but just >whimsically to throw off the script! "usual rage?" Oh, no! The clown head punching bag we got Gorno must have busted. Quick, break out the injector darts fulla lemon-lime prozac! The Philip Glass music was kind of jarring. I mean, it was nice and it fit, but I kept waiting for the children's chorus to break in and chant "Powaquattsi!" Stefan "Where Will It End?"
