ALT.SF4M DS9 6/21/98 SPOILER • j********o@***.com 21/06/1998 00:00:000 UTC I like the way the TV Guide described the surprise ending in a feature article before the episode had aired in all markets! anyway, SPOILER . .. . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. No one gets off of this station alive! That's what we do to deserters 'round her, slut girl! The line about "ovarian resequencing" was cute! Some revisionist authors insist Spock had to be a test-tube baby, but that's just not their style. On that subject - and contrary to the previous thought, it's occured to me that Spock could even be an amalgam, rather than a genetically unitary organism: he could consist of cooperating yet distinct Human and Vulcan cells and organs. It would have been nice if they had noted that this was the first time Worf had ever been with the real Judzia, sans the creepy crawler (Julian got to spend some time with her once, but they never made a point that they are separable entities in the new, sanitized version of the Trill). In that prior episode (where the slug got stolen) it would have been great if Judzia had expressed revulsion for the thing and had to be begged to let it back in (that has a familiar ring to it...), even to save her life! Just maybe they'll examine the question of how much of what Worf loved was Judzia, and how much Dax, especially as there's the possibility that Dax will return (portrayed by more of a team player). Worf isn't exactly open minded, but hey, if she's cute (and a she)... And what of Sisko? He wasn't there last time a Dax host died - if they contribute to the merged personality, that's pretty cold of him; and surely Dax will want to come back to advise his old buddy and help in the war effort (presumably Dax can retain his prior rank and possibly position...) Hmmm...that's true. I would've been funny if she'd wrinkled up her nose at him -- "get away from me you smelly animal!" >In that prior episode >(where the slug got stolen) it would have been great if Judzia had expressed >revulsion for the thing and had to be begged to let it back in (that has a >familiar ring to it...), even to save her life! Worf isn't exactly open minded, but hey, if she's cute (and >a she)... He, he! "Get that old f*ck away from me!!" Their personalities seem quite different from host to host. So I think Worf is out of luck even if the next host is female. They probably will put Dax into a really cute female host -- it's better for ratings and more opportunity for romantic plots. >And what of Sisko? He wasn't there last time a Dax host died - if >they contribute to the merged personality, that's pretty cold of him; and >surely Dax will want to come back to advise his old buddy and help in the war >effort (presumably Dax can retain his prior rank and possibly position...) They did show Sisko grieving for Judzia, but Dax is not mentioned at all (Julian simply states the slug has been sent to Trill). "Sisko you bastard! You let them ship me back to Trill UPS?!" --Doc
