ALT.SF4M Stargate • Stargazer 10/10/1998 00:00:000 UTC I had a strange phone call last week. Someone from the company which produces "Stargate SG-1." They are doing an upcoming episode where the characters go to the year 1969 in the city of Newark, NJ and they end up at the planetarium where I work! So he asked us for some information and perhaps a visual or two they could use to make the set seem more historically accurate. They will be substituting a planetarium in Vancouver, Canada where the show is taped (I presume). He called back the next day to see if we could send him something ASAP and my boss gave him a hard time! Jeez, how many times do you get to have your planetarium mentioned on national TV?! In the end we sent some stuff to him via Fed Ex, so we'll see what happens. He says the show will air on Fox at midnight the 21st, but Oct. 21 is a Wednesday, so I think he meant Sat. Nov. 21. I have not talked to him since, so I have not had a chance to ask him who wrote the script and where the idea for putting the planetarium in the scene came from. (Note that Newark was featured in an SF show at least once before: in the "swere monster" episode of the X-Files). --Doc s********r@i********l.net "I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." --Sarah Williams
