Forum Reunion • Stargazer 06/11/1998 00:00:000 UTC According to Jen's newsletter there are about 80 Forumites signed up for the Anniversary celebration. -- --Doc s********r@i********l.net "I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." --Sarah Williams • Stargazer 14/11/1998 00:00:000 UTC We knew it was going to be a strange night: we were in the Union Ballroom not fifteen minutes when someone walking by projectile vomited on the carpet. And I figured the odds of there being any filk at the Reunion were slim to none. -- 73 de Dave Weingart KA2ESK "L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." mailto:p*******x@****.com -- Saint-Exupery, _Le_Petit_Prince_ http://www.liii.com/~phydeaux • Orelalaith 16/11/1998 00:00:000 UTC > Everything was great except when those cheap ass caterers ran out of paper > plates! Fun, although there wasn't enough shmoozing time and there were notable absences from the local contingent: particularly the reclusive T.O.G., TOAST, and Philcon traitors Lincoln and Slime 'n' Ellen. I only failed to recognize two people: I first mistook Bill Burns for Z.E.M. (although I realized my mistake the next time I caught sight of him) and didn't recognize Jill Rappaport, who is now motherly looking. Time has been kind to the male Forumites at least: we're all getting some silver at the temples. J.A.M. is now building manager of the Union! Met Doc's ladyfriend Heidi (who I had been confusing with a previous girlfriend), J.A.M. 'n' Paula's daughter, Hillary's two kids. Various Forumites have had health troubles: Rob and his girl MyHeidi, Andy Cincinito, and Lisa Warner, of course. Kerry Skadl still claims I owe her $50 dollars, but her recollection of the bet is so uncharacteristically unpleasant that I would really have had to been steamed to have said what she asserts, so I'm damned if I'm coughing it up - besides, it's a topic of conversation. I was voted "Most Grumpy Forumite," although I was hoping for most opinionated, dammit! The music and speaker system in the ballroom sucked (of course), but it was a pleasant evening. The Forum and Gaming club are clean and well organized: I experienced a definite pleasant feeling visiting there, and the die hards seemed nice. I didn't get to prowl campus (had to get home by morning), but maybe I'll drop by again some time. The trip was easy enough (I have five times as much driving experience since then I guess and am less easily flustered). The Forum should do a bulk mailing or emailing to tell people about the web page, email directory, and newsgroup: many at the reunion had no idea they existed. Gorno
