I'm Dead, Jim! • s******j@e***.**o.com 12/06/1999 00:00:000 UTC So, DeForest Kelly has joined DeadCon. I was kind of expecting this, sort of. Just last weekend, I saw a several-years-old compilation-of-old-news-stories thing on MSNBC. The theme was Star Trek. Kelly appeared in one segment; even a few years ago he looked kind of ready to check out. It could be that whatever did him in was at work back then. Interesting news bit from NPR: He was going to train to become a MD after leaving the service, but Hollywood "discovered" him via a bit part in a Navy training film. _Star Trek_ rescued him from a career of playing heavies in B westerns. Remember six times zero equals six? Hehehehe. Okay so if he was 79 this year then he was sokmething like 46 when the series came out. i don't know how old the other actors are but I do believe that we are now in a time when we will see the oldsters dying and well we are all of us not getting any younger! I know. I turned 40 last January and it still boggles the mind. Hugs all around! I guess a lot of people assumed that Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley were all about the same age, but Kelley must've been almost in his 50s during the original series. --Doc • Stargazer 12/06/1999 00:00:000 UTC Stefan E.
