  Run, Lola, Run

     Saw this very odd German movie in Palo Alto today.

     It's set in Berlin. Punk girl gets a call from her sleazy boyfriend,

     who's gonna die in 20 minutes unless he finds a way to replace the bag

     of cash he's supposed to be carrying for a gangster. She runs to his
     aid.

     Odd things happen. Several times.

     There are interesting animated bits, plus odd "what happened next"
     asides

     that follow what happens to people Lola runs by. (e.g., a sour looking

     young mother Lola brushes against is seen, in a flurry of still
     sequences,

     losing her baby in court, then snatching another infant from a
     stroller.)

     Definitely worth renting, at least.

     The hype poster on the front of the theater was amusing. Somewhere along

     the line, English Lit majors have picked up the word "post-human" and

     thought it help them fulfill their pretentiousness quota.
