  help identify alien races

     Help me SF experts--

     I need to identify alien races, from television, movies, or elsewhere,

     that require, when in an earth-type atmosphere, the use of a device to

     assist in breathing, preferably by delivering some sort of gas. I

     thought I remembered seeing one in STNG at some point, but my memory

     is foggy. I need illustrations of these races with their devices,

     either digital or on paper.

     The point of this project is to draw a humorous parallel between these

     aliens and those who, like myself, are not function well in earth's

     atmosphere without the use of supplemental oxygen. I've decided to

     think of myself not as ill or handicapped but as adapting to a hostile

     environment. :D

         I think the episode you want is "Coming of Age", from ST:TNG season
         one.

         The character who needs help breathing out atmospher is "Mordock",
         and

         there is a picture of him on the following web page:

              Thanks very much for the help. The Benzites are the race I was

              thinking of. And the picture is perfect.

              Of course, there may be other races out there who fit the
              bill... It's

              a big universe.

                   In War of the Worlds, the aliens were in suits. Um... Mars
                   Attacks they

                   also had those glass helmets. I think ET eventually was
                   hooked up to a

                   thing to help him breathe. War of the Worlds is probably
                   your best

                   chance for a more detailed description.

         let's not forget "predator" maybe not a beauty queen type of role
         model, but

         you gotta admit, nobody got in it's way!

         i don't know where to find a picture though.

         by the way, i kinda understand how you must feel, i have chronic
         asthma. I

         admire your train of thought on such a dificulty, wish i had thought
         of that.
