  another lost scifi story

     i read this one some years ago, and now want to get it for a

     young person just getting into the scifi reading area [ english is

     his third language, and fun stories can increase knowledge, right ? ]

     the story had a spaceship with a room inside that was modified by a

     friendly alien species to be larger inside than out. also, when the

     ship came in for landings there was a safety feature that 'bounced'

     the ship to a highter altitude if someone or something was in the

     landing zone.

     sorry, i don't have more particulars - at 60 yrs of age my mind

     seems to be dropping information.
