Hiya Strangers! • Oxana 03/06/2004 00:33:033 UTC Wow, sure has been a while. We are finally done with touring - phew, what a long one. Right now a month off sounds real nice. I've spent the last few days getting the utilities turned back on, hosing out the cooler and an all around general cleaning of my place. All that is left now is to kick back and chill. Any one seen any good movies they would care to suggest? I am way behind. Nadia loaned me copies of: Gangs of New York, Gothika, American Wedding. She said she'll have a copy of Van Helsing next week. I saw an advertisement for that some place not long ago. Too bad it looks to be farcical flick. :( I was wishing it would be more to the likes of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein starring Robert De'Nero or the Dracula flick with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder. Loved both of those movies! Anywhoz, Hi creepy thangs! [G] -- Oxana • Siru 03/06/2004 13:52:27 UTC Oxana wrote: >Wow, sure has been a while. If you get bored.. I have a couple places that are overdue for the usual spring cleaning. I'll spring for the cleaning fluids and rubber gloves! :D >Any one seen any good movies they would care to suggest? If you can get your hands on Samurai or Master and Commander. I just watched and enjoyed both. Going to see Brad Pitt..err..Troy (hehe) when I have time. Anyway, hi creepy gurl. :) -- S' • Nihasa 03/06/2004 21:50:27 UTC Oxana wrote: >Wow, sure has been a while. I give it two weeks before you are chomping at the bit to get back on the road. (BG) >Any one seen any good movies they would care to suggest? >I am way behind. Brittney Murphy has the lead female role - can't remember the dudes name, but he is the douche bag on the crap MTV show Punk'd. Castaway with Tom Hanks was also a good one. Liked that one muchly! >She said she'll have a copy of Van Helsing next week. I saw an >advertisement for that some place not long ago. Hmm..I still have her e-addy... I think I'll give it a try. -- Ana • Krima 06/06/2004 23:36:49 UTC Oxana wrote: >Wow, sure has been a while. We just watched it and I thought it was entertaining. Cool FX, plus, I dig K. Becknsale. Not in a lez way, but as an actor. Though, I would prolly bite her if I saw her in person. Greets Oxana. :) > Any one seen any good movies they would care to suggest? Since everything obvious has been suggested, I thought I'd throw in something else. Somehow I don't find films that are based only on overdone FX apealing anymore. What ever happened to thrillers that work without an amount of blood that would fill a super tanker. Sure, I think "Bad Taste" is a fun to watch movie, but somehow the awkwardly done tricks that make B-movies work just don't do it to me in major productions when done too life like. Here're my "not so obvious" choices for your entertainment: One of my all time favorites is "Dead men don't wear plaid" from Carl Reiner. It's a B&W film noir parody/comedy. I've it seen many times but I still watch it every now and then. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083798/ The other good choice of something totally different would be "The man without the past" from Aki Kaurismäki. This is a movie which you either quit after a few minutes or end up watching againg in the next day. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311519/ And the "Bad taste" from Peter Jackson, since I did mention it. This is the one to go for if you're looking for blood and guts spilled around. A truly bloody comedy. :) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092610/ T~ -- The Music is On His Side
